Senior Accountant OR Supervisor - CPA Services

Responsibilities

A senior accountant or supervisor role at TPP is a dynamic opportunity if you enjoy public accounting and are interested in working directly with business owners. This opportunity, which requires and understanding of income tax and GAAP rules and regulations, will involve managing multiple client relationships and projects. Additionally, we are looking for someone who has a desire to train and develop the less experienced associates.  The position will provide opportunities to work within our tax, accounting and CFO service areas.

Engagement Management and Client Service

  • Manage day-to-day client relationships.

  • Recognize, research and participate in resolution of engagement challenges.

  • Communicate and anticipate deadlines and communicate status updates to engagement team.

  • Manage engagement scope and budget issues and assist with client billing.

  • Generate new ideas for our clients that save them time and money.

Growing the Practice

  • Initiate new ideas and business solutions that result in extended services to existing clients across multiple service areas.

  • Actively participate in the proposal process for new clients.

  • Identify and develop skills within a service area and a reputation in at least one industry.

Recruiting and Leading People

  • Participate in recruiting and associate orientation programs.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to enhance the professional growth of staff.

  • Provide leadership, maintain professional image, and be a role model.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of public accounting experience in the tax area with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

  • CPA license.

  • History of leadership, initiative, and drive.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others.

  • Service attitude for providing timely responsiveness to clients’ needs, anticipate concerns and promptly develop and implement solutions.

Tax Preparation Intern


Accounting and Tax Services 

Responsibilities 

The intern will assist the CPA Services Division with the preparation of individual income tax returns for the owners and key employees of our business clients. The intern will gain exposure to a wide range of individual income taxation concepts as well as a practical working knowledge of the filing requirements for federal, state and local individual income tax returns. The intern will work 25-40 hours per week from January - April. 

Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled as an accounting major in college

  • Strong academic background with a GPA of 3.5 or greater

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy 

  • Accounting or tax preparation experience is a plus

Compensation 

  • This internship will pay a highly competitive hourly rate.

Staff Accountant - CPA Services

A staff accountant role at TPP is a dynamic opportunity if you are interested in public accounting and working with business owners. This opportunity requires a basic understanding of GAAP, the ability to problem solve, to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and communicate effectively with other associates. The position will provide opportunities to work within our tax, accounting and CFO service areas.

Engagement Management and Client Service

  • Understand project tasks and scope of working closely with an experienced professional.

  • Understand internal budgets, deadlines and timing required to meet client expectations.

  • Recognize, research and participate in resolution of engagement challenges.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of public accounting experience in the tax area.

  • GPA of 3.5 or greater.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

  • Within 6 credit hours of being able to sit for the CPA exam.

  • History of leadership, initiative, and drive.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others.

  • Internships or practical work experience a plus.

  • Experience with manufacturing or construction clients is preferred, but not required.
